Almost all Term products can convert to a Universal Life (UL) permanent product. Some Terms are age driven (65, 70 or 75) and others by the Term period. Carriers vary with their criteria but the benefit of the conversion can make a world of difference for your client. For an example… a perfectly healthy male takes out a 15 year term policy at age 50. His health deteriorates over the years but his insurance needs are just as important. Depending upon the insurance company and the broker's licensing, he can convert to permanent policy (UL, IUL, VUL, and WL) without proof of insurability (medical) for the same or lesser Death Benefit.
