What does an International Client look like?
To be considered for Bermuda-issued life insurance using products issued in U.S. dollars an international client cannot be a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident. They cannot have a U.S. social security number, permanent visa or U.S. passport. An international client cannot have earned U.S. income or pay U.S. income taxes; however, passive income in the U.S. is allowed.
Should the client have a temporary visa the ability to obtain coverage will be determined on a case by case basis. It will depend on many variables including the type of temporary visa, position of the client, tax exposure, and the amount of time spent in the U.S.
Minimum client net worth: $5 million
Minimum policy face amount: $1 million
